1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Link-Me ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law and the laws of the European Union, including:
- Portuguese Civil Code (Codigo Civil)
- Law on Electronic Commerce (Decreto-Lei n.º 7/2004)
- Consumer Protection Law (Lei n.º 24/96)

2. Service Description
Link-Me provides a URL shortening service that allows users to:
- Create shortened URLs from long web addresses
- Customize short link aliases
- Track click statistics and analytics
- Set expiration dates and password protection
- Generate QR codes for shortened URLs
- Access programmatic API for URL management
Service Availability: We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Registration
When creating an account, you must:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Be at least 16 years old (or age of digital consent in your jurisdiction)
- Maintain the confidentiality of your password
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
3.2 Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- All activity that occurs under your account
- All URLs created through your account
- Ensuring your use complies with applicable laws
- API keys and tokens issued to your account
3.3 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for extended periods. Upon termination, your shortened URLs may be disabled.
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to use the Service to shorten URLs that link to:
Prohibited Content
- Malware & Phishing: Viruses, trojans, ransomware, or deceptive login pages
- Illegal Content: Content that violates Portuguese, EU, or international law
- Fraud & Scams: Pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick schemes, advance-fee fraud
- Harassment: Content that harasses, threatens, or promotes violence
- Hate Speech: Content promoting discrimination or hatred
- CSAM: Child sexual abuse material (reported to authorities)
- Copyright Infringement: Pirated software, movies, music without authorization
- Spam: Unsolicited bulk messaging or link distribution
Technical Restrictions
- Do not attempt to bypass rate limits or abuse the API
- Do not create links that redirect to other URL shorteners (link chains)
- Do not impersonate other users or organizations
- Do not use automated tools to mass-create URLs without authorization
- Do not interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure
Violation of this policy may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, reporting to law enforcement authorities.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Our Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Link-Me and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
5.2 Your Content
You retain all rights to your original URLs and content. By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to process your URLs for the purpose of providing the shortening service.
5.3 DMCA / Copyright Claims
If you believe content accessible through our shortened URLs infringes your copyright, please contact us at support@l-me.eu with the relevant details.
6. API Terms
Use of our API is subject to these additional terms:
- Rate Limits: API calls are subject to rate limits based on your account tier
- API Keys: Keep your API keys confidential; you are responsible for their use
- Attribution: If displaying shortened URLs publicly, attribution to our service is appreciated
- No Reselling: You may not resell or white-label the API without explicit authorization
- Changes: We may modify the API with reasonable notice; breaking changes will be communicated

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
7.1 Service Disclaimer
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
7.2 Third-Party Content
We are not responsible for the content of destination URLs. Shortened links redirect to third-party websites over which we have no control.
7.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Portuguese and EU law, Link-Me shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Consumer Rights: These limitations do not affect your statutory rights under Portuguese consumer protection law (Lei n.º 24/96). If you are a consumer in the EU, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country apply.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Link-Me, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content accessible through URLs you create
9. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal and the European Union.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes shall be resolved through:
- Good-faith negotiation
- Mediation through a certified Portuguese mediation center
- Courts of Lisbon, Portugal (if mediation fails)

10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
