New Feature: Password-Protected Links

We're excited to announce a highly requested feature: password-protected links! Now you can add an extra layer of security to any short URL.

How It Works

When you create or edit a short URL, you can now set an optional password. Anyone clicking the link will be prompted to enter the password before being redirected.

Private Documents

Share sensitive documents with specific individuals without making them publicly accessible.

Exclusive Content

Create gated content for premium subscribers or members.

Pre-Release Access

Share product previews or announcements with select partners before public release.

Internal Links

Protect company resources that shouldn't be publicly accessible.

Setting a Password

Via the dashboard:

1. Create a new URL or edit an existing one
2. Toggle "Password Protection"
3. Enter your desired password
4. Save your changes

Via the API:

Security Notes

• Passwords are securely hashed – we never store them in plain text
• Failed attempts are logged for security monitoring
• You can change or remove passwords at any time
• The password page is styled to match your brand (Pro and Business plans)

Availability

Password protection is available on all plans:

• Free: Up to 5 password-protected links
• Pro: Unlimited password-protected links
• Business: Unlimited + custom password page branding
